Director Memorandum 14-019 Date: March 5, 2014 Prepared By: Joseph Zoba, General Manager Subject: Approval of Contracts for Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits Recommendation: That the Board ratifies contracts with Aetna for medical insurance coverage; Standard Dental, Safeguard / Metlife Dental and Western Dental for dental insurance coverage; and Standard Vision for vision insurance coverage. The Yucaipa Valley Water District has received proposed rate adjustments for medical, dental, and vision insurance. The District’s current financial contribution of $890 per employee for health insurance will change for some individuals based on the calculation methodology identified in specific bargaining group agreements. The District’s contribution amount per employee is identified in the top, left hand corner of the following table together with the health premium charges for each provider below.
