Subject: Authorization to Implement the Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Project
Recommendation: That the Board authorizes the General Manager to take the necessary
steps to implement the Automated Infrastructure Project with Sensus
using the FlexNet backbone communication system.
There are several types of water meters used throughout the United States, some that are capable
of being read remotely using Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI). The Automated Meter
Infrastructure network described herein is the Sensus FlexNet along with the Sensus Endpoints.
The proposed AMI project costs provided are the products and services offered by the local
Sensus dealer, Aqua Metrics Sales Company.
