Subject: Consideration of a Proposal to Prepare a Biological Model of System
Processes at the Wochholz Regional Water Recycling Facility
Recommendation: That the Board authorizes the General Manager to execute a contract
with Dudek for a sum not to exceed $29,235.
The Yucaipa Valley Water is in the process of evaluating improvements to the biological
processes at the Wochholz Regional Water Recycling Facility. In order to reduce uncertainty
about changes to the biological processes, the District staff is recommending that a biological
model be created to simulate the proposed changes to the secondary treatment system prior to
making any physical change.
After the model is created and tested, the District staff would evaluate the benefit of purchasing
the modeling software for $2,500 so it can be maintained and further calibrated for use in the
future.
