Subject: Status Report on the Annual Repairs and Rehabilitation of the Yucaipa Valley
Regional Water Filtration Facility
Each year the District staff takes the Yucaipa Valley
Regional Water Filtration Facility (YVRWFF) out of
service to perform routine inspections and repairs to
prepare the drinking water facility for summertime
operation.
The purpose of this agenda item is to discuss the
status and schedule of the anticipated repairs.
On Thursday, January 31, the State Water Project
water flow will cease and the dewatering and
maintenance will begin. Attached is the list of tasks
associated with this year’s shutdown.
The YVRWFF repairs and maintenance
are scheduled to be completed and
resume the influent flow on Monday,
March 4. Staff will start flushing until a final
disinfectant residual is recorded. This will
be followed by two series of bacteriological
samples that are more than 24 hours
apart. The plant is expected to be turned
into the distribution system by Thursday,
March 7, 2019.
