Long-Term Infiltration Study for the proposed Calimesa Lake and Spreading Basins
The District staff has been working with Geoscience for the development and operating plan for
the proposed Calimesa Lake and Spreading Basins. Based on a thorough evaluation and study
of the groundwater basin, the District will be able to effectively operate and manage the westerly
portion of the Beaumont Basin consistent with the adjudication overseen by the Beaumont Basin
Watermaster (http://www.beaumontbasinwatermaster.org/)
The District staff recognizes that a limited recharge study would not be sufficient in this case to
answer all of the pending questions and issues. As shown in the illustration below, by simply
measuring the percolation rate of the basin, there would be several other factors that remain
unresolved.
