Subject: Task Order No. 6 – Water Level Monitoring for 2015 Reallocation
of Funds to Acquire Four Additional Monitoring Probes
Recommendation: That the Watermaster Committee approves the reallocation of
$3,000.00 under this task to acquire four additional monitoring
probes and associated equipment from Solinst Canada.
At the February 4, 2015 meeting the Watermaster Committee approved Task Order No.
6 with ALDA Inc. for a cost not to exceed $18,490.00. The purpose of this task was for
ALDA Inc. to identify monitoring sites, install monitoring equipment, operate and
maintain monitoring sites, and report to Watermaster during calendar year 2015 (See
Memorandum 15-04).
The budget status as of September 30, 2015 is as follows:
Task Description Initial Budget Cost to Date
Task 1 – Selection of Sites $ 1,140.00 $ 2,295.00
Task 2 – Equipment Installation $ 6,400.00 $ 6,467.50
Task 3 – Operations and Site Maintenance $ 9,240.00 $ 3,360.00
Task 4 – Watermaster Reporting $ 1,710.00 $ 1,410.00
$18,490.00 $13,532.50
Expenditures to date of $13,532.50 represent 73.2 percent of the total budget
established for calendar year 2015. Expenditures by the end of the year are anticipated
to be between $15,000.00 and $15,500.00; approximately $3,000.00 to $3,500.00 under
budget.
At the present time, there are 12 monitoring sites fully equipped and operational
covering substantial portions of the Beaumont Basin. However, there are still some
important areas in and around the basin that are not being monitored.
Considering the availability of funds and the need to established additional monitoring
wells in the basin, we would like the Watermaster Committee to approve the allocation
of $3,000.00 from Task Order No. 6 to acquire four (4) additional water level probes and
appurtenant equipment.
