MINUTES OF A BOARD WORKSHOP May 13, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. Call to Order - 4:00 p.m. II. Public Comments - General Manager Joseph Zoba recognized the members of the Board of Directors and District staff in attendance. There were no public comments. III. Staff Report - General Manager Joseph Zoba provided information on the following topics: • A community meeting will be hosted by the Yucaipa Valley Water District on May 14, 2014 at the drinking water filtration facility; • A budget workshop will be conducted on May 15, 2014 at 4:00 pm. • An agenda item will be added to the next board meeting regarding the identification and declaration of bad debt for Calendar Year 2012. • An economic solution by the District has been proposed to representatives from South Mesa Mutual Water Company and Western Heights Mutual Water Company whereby the District would purchase drinking water from the mutual water companies in an amount equal to the quantity of recycled water used within their territories. This water exchange would allow for the use of recycled water in the service area of a mutual water company while simultaneously maintaining the drinking water service levels of each mutual water company. IV. Presentations A. Overview of California Drought Conditions and Related Regional Issues [Workshop Memorandum No. 14-072] - General Manager Joseph Zoba provided an overview of the current drought conditions. B. Overview of the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2015 [Workshop Memorandum No. 14-073] - General Manager Joseph Zoba provided an overview of the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2015.
