Workshop Memorandum 19-029
Date: January 29, 2019
From: Matthew Porras, Implementation Manager
Subject: Status Report on the Infiltration Testing at the Calimesa Lake and Spreading Basin
Recharge Facility
As a part of the Calimesa Lakes project, the District has
contracted with Geoscience who will be conducting recharge
testing by discharging water into a constructed basin that will
measure 300 feet long and 75 feet wide depicted in the drawing
to the right. The testing is scheduled to last 6-8 weeks and will
utilize instrumentation that is designed to accurately measure
changes in moisture and temperature at various depths in two
separate locations.
District staff met onsite with the Geoscience team on Tuesday
January 22, 2019 during a project site walk to assist in the
coordination of the project. After the necessary permits are in
place, the monitoring well drilling will begin, followed by the
grading of the basin and installation of the monitoring
equipment. The District will complete the installation of the
temporary pipeline after the grading is complete.
