To fully remediate and recover from
the storm damage, the District staff
is proposing to relocate the sewer
mainline to the north in Wildwood
Canyon Road. This proposed
project would approximately 1,300
lineal feet of a new 10” diameter
segment of sewer mainline in
Wildwood Canyon Road to convey
the sewer flows from the upstream
development.
In addition to the upstream flow that
will be diverted with this new
alignment, future connections
downstream of the damaged pipe
that remain in the creek area are
also being reviewed and may need
to be fortified or realigned for
increased protection from future
storm flow damage.
In the adjacent figure, this project is
labeled “New Alignment No.1” and
the next phased improvement as
“New Alignment No.2”. The second
phased improvement (New
Alignment No.2) is recommended to
secure a segment of sewer main
approximately 700 linear feet long
that will likely be damaged during
future storm events. The New
Alignment No.2 can be constructed
at a later date after the New
Alignment No.1 is complete. The
result of these two new alignments
would allow an approximately 2,800
linear foot segment sewer mainline
to be removed from service.
To expedite this project, District staff
will acquire bids and bring them
back for Board consideration as
soon as the design is complete. The
project completion goal is June 30,
2019.
