Subject: Overview of the Proposed Wildwood Canyon Road Sewer Mainline Replacement
Project
The Yucaipa Valley Water District operates and maintains a gravity sewer mainline located south
of Wildwood Canyon Road and west of the Wildwood Creek Basin.
On February 18, 2019, the District staff identified a gravity sewer mainline (Asset #WW-PIP-0295)
adjacent to Yucaipa Creek was damaged due to storm water that eroded the creek downstream
of the Wildwood Canyon Stormwater Basins. The erosion was so severe that the HDPE sewer
mainline appeared to be dislodged by falling boulders that were originally located above the sewer
mainline as part of the flood control project.
The sewer mainline was quickly repaired and is now temporarily suspended and restrained. The
bedding of the pipe needs to be re-established and fortified if the pipe remains in service.
